Shanghai, China, 25 January 2021 — The project “Governance improvement and operational synergy practices under MAH policy,” led by Shanghai MicroPort Medical (Group) Co., Ltd. (MicroPort®), won the first prize of the Shanghai Innovative Achievement Award for Modernized Enterprise Management for 2020. The award, announced by the Review Committee on December 25, 2020,marksthe second consecutive year that MicroPort® has been awarded first prize, following its project “Brand building and management of large-scale high-end medical device enterprises” in 2019.
As part of their “Governance improvement and operational synergy practices under MAH policy” project, MicroPort® developed the "Speed Dial Management" model – a standardized, implementable and replicable interactive management model for medical device registrants. Additionally, the project identified the core philosophy of “synergy through three parties, three guidelines and three flows,” which is a significant experience for promoting and implementing the MAH policy within the medical device industry.
The "Speed Dial Management" model explains the relationship between the contractor and the manufacturer. In compliance with MAH policy, both the contractor and the manufacturer are required to follow the new quality management system, building on their existing quality management systems while incorporating the requirements of relevant regulations and commissioning agreements. The manufacturer provides manufacturing services and continuous data feedback to the contractor, who monitors and measures the activities of the manufacturer at critical milestones in the process of commissioned manufacturing activities. Both parties interact with each other in regards to the flow of “human resources, goods and information” to ensure a fully controlled product development process.
The recognition of MicroPort® through the first prize of the Shanghai Innovative Achievement Award for Modernized Enterprise Management for two consecutive years demonstrates how the company is gradually moving towards becoming a first-class enterprise in terms of governance.
