PuJiang EmergingMedical Technology Forum 2012 Successfully Held in Shanghai

PuJiang Emerging Medical Technology Forum 2012 was held successfully in Shanghai from March 24th to 25th, 2012. This meeting was co-organized by MicroPort and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and participated jointly by Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Sichuan University, and Beijing Institute of Technology. Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences,professors, senior researchers as well as executives from nationwide high-tech medical technology corporates were invited. It was the first themeforum focused on emerging medical technologies in China. It was aimed to better promote the transformation of emerging medical technologies to the industrial application and enhance the opportunities for communication and cooperation between industry and academia, and promote the research and industrial development of China's emerging medical technology.Dr. Daozhi Liu, Senior Vice President of Business Development from MicroPort, was the chairman of this meeting, and Professor Weihai Yin, vice-president of School of Biomedical Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Professor Weiqiang Gao, vice-president of Med-X Research Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Professor Hongchen Gu, Director of Med-X Research Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University were co-chairmen of this meeting.
During the two-day meeting, 23 guestspeakers had communicated latest achievements in various medical technology fundamental research and industrial application field, such as nationwide medical information grid system, intelligent healthcare, nanostructured biomaterials technology, biomedical degradable materials and so on. These achievementsreflect the future development trend of medical technologiesfeatured with minimally invasive, intelligent, customized, targeted, early-staged, and popularization.
