Budapest, Hungary – On June 20, Shanghai MicroPort Medical (Group) Co., Ltd ("MicroPort®") attended the China and Central and Eastern European Countries ("CEEC") Health Economy Conference and Exhibition as one of the eight representatives of innovative high-tech enterprises in China. The conference was hosted during the Third China-CEEC Health Ministers Meeting held in Budapest of Hungary from June 18 to June 20.
Vice Premier of State Council of China Yandong Liu and Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary Zsolt Semjen attended and addressed the third China-CEEC Health Ministers Meeting that was themed on "national health." Vice Premier Yandong Liu said, China is speeding up in building "healthy China" and CEEC are acting as bonds of mutual cooperation between the Asian and European countries. Deepening cooperation between China and CEEC in the health sector will not only help China to cope with global health challenges but also largely promote the China-CEEC cooperation and the implementation of "the Health Silk Road."
On June 20, before the opening ceremony of China and CEEC Health Economy Conference and Exhibition that was jointly hosted by the National Health and Family Planning Commission of China and the National Economy of Hungary, Director of the National Health and Family Planning Commission of China Bin Li, Minister of National Economy of Hungary Mihály Varga and other officials in CEEC visited MicroPort® booth. Dr. Linda Lin, First Vice President of MicroPort® International Business, introduced to them MicroPort®'s development history, business segments, and product portfolio with the emphasis on its international business development. Physicians and local medical device agencies showed great interest in MicroPort®'s in-house developed Firehawk® Rapamycin Target Eluting Coronary Stent System ("Firehawk®") and cardiac electrophysiological devices. They said, products as high quality and high cost-effective as Firehawk® will have unlimited local market demand.
On the same day, Dr. Lin participated in a round-table meeting themed on "healthcare economy and quality management, training and postgraduate training, cooperation between universities and higher education institutions." During the meeting, Dr. Lin introduced the experience in the collaboration programs between MicroPort® and domestic universities such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University and University of Shanghai for Science and Technology. Dr. Lin said:" Through carrying out cooperation with universities and launching various kinds of training courses, MicroPort® is actively working with industry peers to advance the technology and innovation development of the whole industry.
