On October 13, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the opening of MicroPort Hope Primary School in Yatou Village, Zhongzhi Town, Wulian Country, Rizhao City, Shandong Province. The local government officials and Professor Ge Junbo of Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University as well as MicroPort's top management including Chairman Zhaohua Chang, CMO Peng Bo and Senior Vice President of Admin Zhang Jie jointly attended the ceremony. Mr. Wang Guangxiang, Party Secretary of Zhongzhi Town, Wulian Country, chaired the ceremony, with Dr. Chang and Professor Ge addressed to the audience.
Mr. Du Jiangtao, head of Country Wulian, expressed sincere thanks to the caring people on behalf of the local villagers. Mr. Yan Jibin, the director of Education Bureau of Wulian, issued the Letter of Appointment as Honorary President of MicroPort Hope Primary School and Letter of Appointment as Honorary Consultant to Mr. Zhang Jie and Professor Ge Junbo respectively.
MicroPort Hope Primary School is the first Hope School sponsored by MicroPort, with donation fund from employees, distributors, physicians and the company. The school currently has the capacity to enroll up to 400 pupils, with computer room, library and multimedia teaching facilities equipped. On September 1, the school welcomed its first 325 pupils, accounting for 1/4 of the total number of pupils at local town.
