First Surgery of Using Takin™ Spinal Posterior Fixation System in the Treatment of Complex Spinal Tumor Successfully Completed
Nanchang, China – On August 5, Professor Rongli Yang of Peking University People's Hospital and Professor Qi Liao and Director Zhiping Zhang of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University successfully completed a surgery using MicroPort® Orthopedics' Takin™ Spinal Posterior Fixation System in the treatment of complex spinal tumor.
The female patient was diagnosed with S2 space occupying lesion. The surgeons performed removal of S2 space occupying lesion and spine internal fixation with Takin™ Spinal Posterior Fixation System. The surgery lasted for one hour and achieved successful outcome with little blood loss. Professor Rongli Yang, Professor Qi Liao, and Director Zhiping Zhang spoke highly of the design rationale and matching instrumentation of Takin™ Spinal Posterior Fixation System, especially for the cortex and cancellous bone thread design of pedicle screws in Takin™ Spinal Posterior Fixation System which shortens the surgery time and improves surgical efficiency.
Takin™ Spinal Posterior Fixation System was launched in 2015. The successful result of the surgery treating complex spinal tumor demonstrated the clinical value and market recognition of Takin™ Spinal Posterior Fixation System, and meanwhile creates a good beginning for the popularization of Takin™ Spinal Posterior Fixation System in the spinal orthopedic field and paves the way for MicroPort® Orthopedics' spine and trauma team to increase its awareness in China.
