MicroPort® and Shanghai Municipal Research Center for Health Development Enter into Strategic Cooperation Agreement

Shanghai, China – A signing ceremony for the Strategic Cooperation Agreement (the "Agreement") between Shanghai MicroPort® Medical (Group) Co., Ltd. ("MicroPort®") and Shanghai Municipal Research Center (the "Center") for Health Development was held at the headquarters of MicroPort® on December 17, 2019. MicroPort® First Vice President, Business Development and Project Management, Dr. Chengyun Yue and First Vice President, Technological Innovation and New Business Model Development, Dr. Xiang He were present at the signing ceremony. Dr. Chengyun Yue and Mr. Chunlin Jin, who is President of Shanghai Municipal Research Center for Health Development, signed the Agreement on behalf of the two parties.

The Center is an organization affiliated to Shanghai Municipal Health Commission and engaged in the researches of health policies and medical science and technology information. The Center, which targets the “building of a first-rate health think tank of international standard” and adheres to the “promotion of evidence-based health administration decisions and contribution to the reform and development of the health cause”, is committed to creating a major think tank of Shanghai’s health system, a base for the nurturing of health policy talents and an administration and service platform for innovation in medical science and technology. According to the Agreement, the two parties will cooperate in a comprehensive manner, under the principles of alliance between the strong, complementary resources, double-win cooperation, joint nurturing of talents and synergistic innovation and in the areas of population information and health policy research, health technology assessment research, medical science and technology information research, health science and technology innovation and development, intellectual property services, and transfer and commercialization of medical achievements. The cooperation will cover the joint building of “Joint Research Center for Global Healthcare Industry”, the promotion of researches on healthcare industry trends and policies, and the organization of various kinds of program cooperation and scientific exchange events.

At the signing ceremony, MicroPort® First Vice President, Technological Innovation and New Business Model Development, Dr. Xiang He said that the development of medical devices is leading the progress of the medical industry. He hoped that the cooperation would help MicroPort® improve the combination of practice and theory to closely follow the industry’s development trends and achieve relentless innovation. Shanghai Municipal Research Center for Health Development Party Secretary Ling Jin said that the Center hoped to take advantage of the cooperation and exchange with MicroPort® to make full use of their respective advantages, share the advantages and benefit each other to try to promote the materialization of more programs.

Shanghai Municipal Research Center for Health Development President Mr. Chunlin Jin gave a lecture with the topic of “Value healthcare and its practice path against the backdrop of healthcare reform”. With an introduction of the healthcare reform and “Health China 2030”, Mr. Jin advocated that the researches should be transformed into productivity in the four fields of information technology’s application in healthcare system, benchmark researches and analyses on optimal path, changes and adjustments of incentive mechanism, and restructuring of healthcare services, so as to try to bring about a new path for value healthcare that features the integration of government, hospitals, companies and patients.

MicroPort® First Vice President, Business Development and Project Management, Dr. Chengyun Yue said that MicroPort® has developed in the past over 20 years to achieve a leap from being a follower to becoming a global leader in a few areas. In the future, MicroPort® will closely follow the policies, guidance and trends of the reform on the national healthcare administration and healthcare system, and team up with the Center for synergistic innovation to provide patients and doctors with integrated therapeutic solutions.
