July 4 2008 saw the grand opening of the 6th Atrial Fibrillation Symposium (CAFS) in the beautiful coastal city Dalian, the symposium sponsored by Chinese Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology and Chinese Heart Rhythm Society. With distinguished guests present such as Chinese experts Dayi Hu, Congxin Huang, Yun Zhang, Jihong Guo, Changsheng Ma, Shu Zhang, Yanzong Yang, as well as Professor Douglas L.Packer from Mayo Clinic Center of US and Professor Lntermountian from Utah state of US, the symposium gathered some above 500 Experts from home and abroad and technicists from relative enterprises. MicroPort's CTO Qiyi Luo, VP Daozhi Liu of R&D Center, and VP Yimin Xu of Quality, Regulatory and Clinic Affairs, together with EP project team attended the conference, set up a product stand and showcased the company's latest research fruits of electrophysiology, and communicated blithely with participant experts and scholars. In the afternoon of the day, MicroPort's medical satellite meeting was held at the VenueⅠon a theme of Opportunities and Challenges on Atrial Fibrillation Therapy with New Technology and the Localization of the Medical Instrument. The satellite meeting was presided over by Congxin Huang, Chairman of the conference, Professor Kejiang Cao and Changsheng Ma. On the meeting, Professor Xu Liu, Minglong Chen, and Dr. Daozhi Liu from MicroPort's R&D center addressed keynote speeches on themes of Clinic Advances in Atrial Fibrillation Therapy with Ablation Catheter, the New Technology of Atrial Fibrillation Therapy, and Engineering Technology of Ablation Catheter treating Atrial Fibrillation.
From 1997 when the first meeting was held to this year, the Atrial Fibrillation Symposium has experienced a decade, during which, experts from home and abroad, as well as numerous medical enterprises made unremitting efforts, provided great support to the cultivation and development of the atrial fibrillation forum, and played an important role in promoting the development of this domain.
