Shanghai, China - August 26, 2026 - MicroPort CardioFlow (formally MicroPort CardioFlow Medtech Corporation, 02160.HK) today announced that Mr. Guoming Chen has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Mr. Ruinian Zhang, who becomes President of the Company, effective immediately. Dr. Brian Chang, previously Co-Chairman, becomes Chairman of the Board. The changes were approved by the Board of Directors.
After careful consideration, Mr. Zhang tendered the resignation from Chief Executive Officer for personal and family reasons, and the Board approved to appoint him as President of the Company. He will remain as an executive director and a key member of the senior management team, focusing on commercial strategy in China, international expansion of the structural heart business, and global post-launch clinical strategy.
Mr. Chen co-founded MicroPort CardioFlow’s structural heart intervention business and has served as Chairman since 2023. He previously oversaw global R&D project management across the entire MicroPort group, significantly reducing R&D spending as a percentage of revenue while improving R&D productivity. Following the merger of the structural heart and rhythm management businesses, he led several integration and operational improvements. As Chief Executive Officer, he will assume overall responsibility for the Company's operations and management, focusing on integrating the Company's global technology capabilities, advancing its product portfolio, and strengthening coordination across its international operations. He steps down as Chairman and will continue on the board as an executive director.
Dr. Chang will continue to serve as a non-executive Director and, as Chairman, will now lead the Board's governance and oversight.
“I am grateful to the Board and the team for their understanding and support,” said Mr. Zhang. “While my responsibilities are changing, I will continue to work closely with the team to support MicroPort CardioFlow’s long-term growth.”
“I would like to thank Mr. Zhang for his contributions during his tenure as CEO,” said Mr. Chen. “This transition does not change our established strategy or business priorities. The management team will continue to work together to advance the Company’s goal of becoming a leader in cardiac diagnosis and treatment.”
“The Board joins me in thanking Mr. Zhang for his leadership as CEO. We are pleased that as President he will continue to bring his experience to the Company,” said Dr. Chang. “We believe the new leadership structure will enable the management team to build on its strengths while maintaining strategic and operational continuity. The Board will continue to exercise rigorous oversight in support of the management team.”
Following this transition, MicroPort CardioFlow remains committed to its global strategy and to developing comprehensive, device-based solutions for cardiovascular disease across all causes, all stages, and the full course of care for patients worldwide.
