Shanghai, China, 18 December 2024 – MicroPort EverPace recently unveiled an innovative automated mapping module for its Columbus™ 3D EP Navigation System (Columbus™). By analyzing parameters like electrocardiogram patterns and conduction stability, the software automatically filters out non-clinical ectopic beats based on ECG changes, allowing for precise identification of clinical PACs and efficient localization of the earliest activation points.
The module recently marked a milestone with its first application in Thailand. Dr. Voravut and his team at Sakonnakhon Hospital successfully performed an atrial fibrillation ablation procedure using the module along with the EasyStars™ 3D High Density Mapping Catheter (EasyStars™) .
During the procedure, Dr. Voravut employed the EasyStars™ catheter to create a precise 3D model of the left atrium. The physician noted that the catheter demonstrated excellent mapping performance, enabling rapid modeling that laid a solid foundation for subsequent pulmonary vein isolation. Additionally, Dr. Voravut utilized the Columbus™ automated mapping software module to precisely map frequent premature atrial contractions (PACs) observed during the procedure. The module automatically filtered clinically irrelevant beats by adjusting various conditions, such as catheter position changes and electrocardiogram waveform patterns, delivering both high efficiency and precision. Following this, Dr. Voravut and his team successfully performed two additional tachyarrhythmia ablation procedures using this software module.
Dr. Voravut commented that PAC mapping poses a significant challenge during ablation, but this software module delivered impressive efficiency and precision throughout the procedure.
