MicroPort Orthopedics Wins Two Grants for its Scientific Research Projects

The "Research and Industrialization of a New Kind of Locking Compression Plate system" project submitted by MicroPort Orthopedics Co., Ltd. on November 25, 2011, was approved by the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipal (STCSM) as one of the major Shanghai 2011 Biomedical Commercialization Projects. The STCSM will make a substantial contribute to the purchase of research equipment, and the Pudong New Area also promises supplementary aids. Previously, MicroPort Orthopedics was selected as one of the Shanghai 2010 Biomedical Commercialization Projects, which enjoyed rapid development after receiving energetic support from the government in researching, commercializing and diversifying the products.

Also, the "Study of Self-induced HA Coating on Titanium Alloy Joint Prosthesis" jointly applied by MicroPort Orthopedics and the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology has been selected as one of the Shanghai key scientific and technological projects. It will support MicroPort in developing new technologies and future joint research projects for new products.
