Hangzhou, China – From August 6 to August 7, Suzhou MicroPort OrthoRecon Co., Ltd. ("MicroPort® OrthoRecon") attended the China Minimally Invasive ("MIS") Joint Replacement and Fast Recovery Academic Conference that was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Jointly hosted by China Health Promotion Foundation, China Joint Surgery Expert Committee and Orthonline, the conference was centered on joint replacement procedure and rapid post-operative recovery, covered topics including the latest development of the procedure, key points of surgical techniques, operative procedure, case analysis, perioperative management and post-operative recovery.
On August 5, MicroPort® OrthoRecon hosted a training course of SuperPath™ Micro-posterior Total Hip Arthroplasty Technique ("SuperPath™") with case studies of MIS procedures, which attracted over 40 domestic orthopedic experts who have previously performed the SuperPath™ procedure. Professor Kunzheng Wang, Chairman of the academic meeting, Vice Chairman of Chinese Orthopaedic Association, Vice Chairman of Chinese Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Director of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, mentioned in the meeting that the concept of fast post-operative recovery has now been wildly accepted in the international community. He said, in the past, the main focus of the Chinese medical industry were nothing but surgical techniques and prosthetic material, but now the fast post-operative recovery has become an increasingly important issue since it is of great significance in terms of saving social resources, enhancing hospitals' academic level and improving patient satisfaction.
Meanwhile, Professor Bing Xia of Zhejiang People's Hospital, Professor Yunsu Chen of Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital, Professor Kun Tao of Shanghai Tenth People's Hospital, and Professor Baolin Li of Guangzhou Orthopedic Hospital, shared their experience and discussed the anatomical science and clinical result in relation to the SuperPath™ fast recovery function and operative techniques of using different femoral stems in SuperPath™ procedure, and analyzed related cases of SuperPath™ procedure. In addition, Professor Yunsu Chen mentioned that MicroPort® OrthoRecon will launch a universal operating handle of SuperPath™ to work with TL stem in October, which will allow surgeons to have wider prosthesis selection.
During the same day, MicroPort® OrthoRecon launched the Project of Clinical Follow-up of Knee Products, which attracted nearly 100 participants from the orthopedic field. This event of "Fast Recovery" and Patient Satisfaction gathered many attentions from the industry.
