Shanghai, China – On September 24, Shanghai MicroPort Medical (Group) Co ("MicroPort®") attended the 13th "Zhangjiang Cup" Dragon Boat Race in Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park of Pudong New Area in Shanghai. MicroPort® has joined in the annual competition for 13 consecutive years and once again achieved outstanding result and demonstrated its unique culture.
Themed on "Forge Ahead with Innovation and Cooperation," the race attracted more than 400 people of 35 teams from companies and schools in Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park. The competition was approved by Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park Management Committee, Shanghai Zhangjiang (Group) Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Pudong New Area Zhangjiang Township People's Government, and was sponsored by Shanghai Zhangjiang Culture and Creative Industry Holding Co., Ltd. and Shanghai International Medical Zone Group Co., Ltd., and was organized by Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park Federation of Trade Unions and Shanghai Zhangjiang Culture & Media Co., Ltd.
In the preliminary, the teams were divided into A, B, C three groups, and the top three in each group went through to the final. As the gun was fired, the racers pulled the oars harmoniously and hurriedly, speeding toward their destination, accompanied by rapid drums as well as the roar and the applause of the crowd.
MicroPort® Dragon Boat Team belongs to MicroPort®'s Sports Union which is one of its horizontal organizations. The team is consisted of MicroPort®'s amateurs who practice in their spare time. MicroPort® is the only company that has taken part in the Dragon Boat Race for 13 years. As one of the strongest teams in the competition, it received several team awards such as the Second Prize and "Dragon-Boat-Spirit Award", as well as individual awards such as "Best Drummer." This year, many new players joined in MicroPort® Dragon Boat Team and have begun to stand out in the competition under the direction of old players. Though lack of experience, they raced with tactic cooperation and dedication. They fully demonstrated MicroPort®'s spirit of hard work and striving for success, achieved No.4 in final, and won the "Best Sportsmanship Award" for MicroPort®.
MicroPort® staff love sports, and the sportsmanship of fair competition and cooperation has been deeply rooted in our company culture. Since established in 2003, MicroPort® Dragon Boat Team actively participated in competitions to show MicroPort® staff's vigor and energy. In addition, MicroPort® sponsored the dragon boat team in Harvard University to help disseminate Chinese culture all over the world.
In the dragon boat races in which team spirit is of great importance, MicroPort® staff embody the company core values of Aspiration and Cooperation. "I took part in every Dragon Boat Race, and got different rewards each time. What remains the same is MicroPort®'s spirit of courage, cooperation and hard work," said an old player who participated in 13 "Zhangjiang Cup" Dragon Boat Races. The new players said they were impressed by the team members' strong sense of collective honor and team spirit that they felt in either practice or the competitions, with which they have full confidence in the future races, and hoped more people can join in the race to carry forward MicroPort®'s "Dragon Boat Spirit."
