Suzhou, China, 18 November 2021 — Suzhou MicroPort RehabTech (Group) Co. Ltd. (MicroPort® RehabTech), a subsidiary of MicroPort Scientific Corporation (MicroPort®), has recently obtained a registration certificate of medical devices issued by Jiangsu Drug Administration (JSDA) for its TherMotion® Cryo-Thermo Compression Device (TherMotion®). This is the company’s first registration certificate for an active medical device since its inception.
TherMotion® is indicated for the acute and sub-acute phases of musculoskeletal rehabilitation and can be widely used in various clinical departments, such as orthopedics, sports medicine, rehabilitation and pain medicine, as well as in the team physician institutes for sports teams. TherMotion® provides real-time feedback on the temperature control and pressure monitoring of the entire therapeutic process with its integrated intelligent management system. It enables holistic treatment by combining cryotherapy, thermotherapy, and intermittent compression to the affected or injured area through a wrap that fits perfectly over the body part being treated. This approach helps to suppress the inflammatory response, control swelling and reduce pain to meet the needs of early and rapid clinical recovery.
Mr. Yi Luo, General Manager of MicroPort® RehabTech, commented, "At present, MicroPort® has acquired nearly 100 patents in rehabilitation medicine and has several products already commercially available. As the company’s first active device approved for marketing, TherMotion® demonstrates the strength of MicroPort® RehabTech in providing a full range of equipment and consumables solutions for the acute phase of musculoskeletal rehabilitation.”
MicroPort® launched its rehabilitation business in 2017, with the aim of not only saving lives and treating diseases, but also helping patients to recover their body functions and return to normal life as soon as possible. MicroPort® established two subsidiaries for its rehabilitation business, MicroPort® RIC and MicroPort® ST, in May 2018 and January 2019 respectively. These subsidiaries focus on muscle and bone rehabilitation, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and neurological rehabilitation. On May 14, 2021, MicroPort® RehabTech was founded by merging MicroPort® RIC with MicroPort® ST.
In the future, MicroPort® RehabTech will continue to strengthen medicine-industry-research integration in a bid to continuously promote product innovation and provide more high-quality total rehabilitation solutions for doctors, therapists, and patients, helping patients return to their everyday routines as soon and better as possible.
