Milan, Italy, 02 June 2021 — After multiple rounds of evaluation by an international jury, the Honghu joint replacement surgery robot, developed by Suzhou MicroPort® OrthoBot Co., Ltd. (“MicroPort® OrthoBot”), a subsidiary of MicroPort® Scientific Corporation (00853.HK, “MicroPort®”), has been awarded the Silver Award for product design at the A' Design Award and Competition 2021.
The A' Design Award and Competition is the world’s leading international annual design competition, and the largest and most diverse design competition in the world. The award-winning Honghu joint replacement surgery robot is a result of thorough optimization in appearance and structure by the Industrial Design Center of the MicroPort® Group. Designed with a unique visual language, the two-cart sub-systems conveys the image of a product that cures joint diseases, helping patients to walk and begin to rebuild a better life. The simple and compact design allows for easy management and cleaning, whilst the design of navigation tools and other accessories facilitates ease of use and reduces the difficulty of handling. The interaction design follows clinical needs — each interaction logic and graphic design is designed to attend to the smallest of detail, thus reducing the learning curve of doctors and improving surgical precision and safety.
